More writing meanderings

My posts have been rather negative lately.  Sorry about that.  The frustrations of the world got to me and I felt the need to act out.

When I haven’t been posting diatribes, I’ve been working on revising a couple of older pieces for submission to a number of places either for the purpose of competition or just plain publication.  Original versions of “In the Company of Trolls” (retitled “A Parley with the Troll”), “‘Tis not in Giving Great Amounts” and the couple of flash-fict entries have undergone some serious multiple revisions.  I intend to submit the longer pieces for publication and I think the flash finally meets my editorial expectations.

I’ve discovered a new layer of myself that I had believed non-existent: the editor.  I am finally getting aorund to fixing the errors in flow and/or content on a few pieces.  I’m being much more serious about trying to get published somewhere aside from this (and the other) blog site.

And when I haven’t been doing that, I’ve been madly trying to get some home improvement stuff done before the summer is completely gone.  Re-siding garage, replacing windows, re-doing the trim around the floorboards,w indows and doors…

Whew.

Who-boy, the negativity is all there seems to be right now – reasons to vent your spleen and no way to get relief from it.

I feel ya there – my blogging is quite sparse because of it.

Good luck in the editing & home-improvement.

Thanks N8ey. The level of negativity is diminishing, mostly because I’ve found a little balance and partially because the class I attended today met my expectations more than the other group as far as “peers” are concerned. I felt like I was around a prepared and knowledgeable instructor as well as other writers who were positive and constructive in their criticism (rather than snipey). The past few rants have had some karmic balance applied. It spurred me to take other classes I had considered, but was hesitant to explore after my longer course experience.

Hope all is well — hey, did you ever move?
