Excitement overflowing

I’m a gadget geek.

I admit it.

I might not be one of the first to adopt a new technology, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t wish I could. Usually, the only thing holding me back from purchasing some new gizmo is the cost. Another reason I don’t try some gadget, software or tech is that I don’t see the real value in the item (or I feel the excitement for it is overrated, e.g. Twitter).

Not only am I a gadget geek, but I am very fond of books.

Add those two character flaws and you have someone who is the prime target audience for Amazon’s Kindle. I’ve wanted one since I heard that the ebook reader was being manufactured for sale.

But I couldn’t justify the cost.

I finally caved in (see post a few weeks ago) and bought one.

I received an email from Amazon last night that informed me that my Kindle has been shipped and is on it’s way to a loving home on my block — my home to be precise.

Oh man… I’m about to wet myself.
